Objectives and Structure of the Project
Financial Support
The first campaign of the joint research project in 2006 was financed by the University of Tübingen (Universitätsbund) with further financial support granted by the German Troia Foundation (TroiaStiftung). The then-Dean of the University of Tübingen, Prof. Dr. Dr. Eberhard Schaich, and the President of the TroiaStiftung, Dr. Hanns-Günther Jansen, are to be heartily thanked for their generous support of the project.
For the excavation campaign of 2007 Prof. Dr. Horst Ehringhaus (Innsbruck), Dr. Hans Günter Jansen (Böblingen), the Robert Bosch Foundation (Robert Bosch Stiftung, Stuttgart) and the Societas Anatolica (İstanbul) generously granted financial support. We are very thankful for these donations.

In a time of drastic steep cuts by the public authorities especially to archaeological projects it becomes all the more difficult—despite public interest—to finance and ensure scientific research. Our hope is to find donors and sponsors who have an interest in supporting a cultural and scientific exchange between Turkey and other European countries.
